We've been to Michigan and back. We got to experience Art Prize, go fishing, 4-wheeling and visit some of Matt's family.
When we got back, the very next morning I started the 'Big Gun' vaccine. It was three days of getting IV's and I just felt a little bit tired from it. My naturopath said after looking at my blood work, there has been movement in the right direction, which is encouraging! The vaccine was not a magic wand and I'm not all better but I am hopeful and confident that Jesus loves me and has not abandoned me, even though I didn't get the quick fix that I wanted!

My oncologist has agreed to give me a little break from chemo, to see if the vaccine does anything further...and because I am stubborn and needed a little break or was going to freak out! I go back on November 7th to have my numbers checked. I have been feeling a bit tired and anemic but am still doing what I can to be active!!

We've been leading Redemption Groups at our church and my co-leaders and I recently did a teaching on suffering. I found this quote from a Tim Keller article that really stood out to me. In it, Keller talks about how t
he main thing we need when we are suffering is not answers--it’s companionship or friendship, and that ultimately God is our companion in suffering--just look at Jesus on the cross & Psalm 22.
Keller states, “Christianity is the only religion on the face of the earth that says God is your companion in suffering, that God has suffered, that God does suffer.
David Watson, who was a Christian leader some years ago, was dying of cancer when he wrote this. He says:
Someone once said to me, “There cannot be a God of love, because if there was and he looked upon the world, his heart would break.” But the gospel points to the cross and says, “It did break.” Someone once said to me, “It’s God who made the world, it’s he who should bear the load.” The gospel points to the cross and says, “He did bear the load.” God weeps with those who weep. He feels our pain and enters into our sorrows with his compassionate love.”
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."
